This course has been specifically designed for students who have absolutely no experience in English. By the end of this course students will have a firm grasp of basic English and will be able to confidently have simple conversations in English.

The English for starters course is comprised of 10 lessons. Below you will find a detailed description of each lesson:

Lessons

Lesson 1 –Nice to Meet You!

Length: 60 minutesComplexity: Easy

In this lesson you will learn classroom instructions, some common nouns, nouns having to do with people, places in town, how to greet and introduce yourself to someone, how to count from 1-10, and to be in positive sentences.

Lesson 2- Where are you from?

Length: 60 minutesComplexity: Easy

In this lesson you will learn about countries, nationalities how to ask someone where they are from, to “be” in negative sentences, as well as contractions.

Lesson 4 – My Family and Friends

Length: 60 minutesComplexity: Easy

In this lesson you will learn how to introduce a friend, to be in questions, as well as how to say the alphabet.

Lesson 5 – What have you got?

Length: 60 minutesComplexity: Easy

In this lesson you will learn how to say what you have, some nouns for personal objects, and plural nouns.

Lesson 6 –How old are you?

Length: 60 minutesComplexity: Easy

In this lesson you will learn how to talk about friends, how to say numbers from 11 to 100, as well as review to “be”.

Lesson 7 – Eating Out

Length: 60 minutesComplexity: Easy

In this lesson you will learn how to order food at a café/restaurant, possessive “s” with singular and plural nouns,  and some nouns for food, drinks and snacks.

Lesson 8 – Where is… ?

In this lesson you will learn about talk about position, how to understand signs, as well as some adjectives.

Lesson 9 – How much?

In this lesson you will learn how to ask about prices and pay for things, this/that/these/those, and about colours.

Lesson 10 – In my opinion…

In this lesson you will learn how to express your opinion, some adjectives of opinion, and there is/are some/a lot of.

Lesson 11 – Finding Your Way in New Places

In this lesson you will learn how to ask for and give directions, prepositions of place, some nouns for natural places,  and there isn’t/aren’t / Are there? /Is there any?

Lesson 12 – Travelling

In this lesson you will learn how to buy a ticket and tell the time.

Lesson 13 – Saying what you like

In this lesson you will learn how to say what you like, Present Simple, some commonly used verbs, as well as some vocabulary about sport.

In this lesson you will learn how to describe your  day and daily routines,  days of the week, and verbs of routine.

Lesson 15 – What do you… ?

In this lesson you will learn how to ask and answer questions about your life, yes/no questions, “WH” questions, and verb collocations.

In this lesson you will learn how to understand basic information about a house, nouns for furniture, and how to say that you have got something.

This course will introduce students to the basics of English. It will teach them proper pronunciation, how to count from 1-100, ordinal numbers, the alphabet, daily routines, the different times of day, how to tell the time, days of the week, months, how to say specific dates, subject pronouns, imperatives, the verb to be, some basic verbs and nouns, simple adjectives, how to introduce yourself, say what you like, say what you do, daily routines as well as the Present Simple and much more. By the end of this course, students will be able to make basic sentences and have simple conversations.
